today is the deadline of the geography competition. and now we're all excused from class, sitting in the library typing out reports. i've finished mine.(: so we've got to compile everything into the 2,000 word report. thirsty work! haha.
yesterday we 'worked overtime' in school. it was fun, and we stayed in the teacher's lounge. penny, mel, yuqi, shufei, jannah, manprit, jeanne, yijun, siti, and i. the 3/4 girls had advanced elective module class in singapore polytechnic before our project thing. yesterday's lesson was especially interesting, we learnt to rewire three pin plugs. (: so we're learning something useful now. what one of the teachers showed us was a circuit board, with a touch pad and a bulb that lighted up when physical contact was made with the touch pad.
after our lesson, we went back to school and so we went to the teacher's lounge to start work. we used all our research, and mr tan's and ms chan's laptops. we then started on our 2,000 word report. finally!
after awhile, it started to get dark, and everyone left school except for us. we'd obtained special permission to stay in school late. looking outside the lounge, the corridor was dimly lit and looked just like something from a ghost story. all the lights in the school were off except for the foyer's, canteen's, the huge clock, the lounge, and the corridor outside the lounge. no one was in school except us. somehow, that got us started on the topic of the supernatural, and we started telling ghost stories. mr tan also started telling us stories about what he and his friends had experienced. we had dinner of kfc and pizza hut, and mr woo, mr tan and ms chan ate with us. yuqi and i were asking ms chan about anything she had experienced supernaturally, and she told us some things. confidential.(: and so we continued doing everything we had been doing after dinner, and the stories continued.
manprit told us a story about her dad encountering dirty things in a hotel in africa one night, and by that time, we were all feeling delicious fear. goosebumps were further raised by the story. it was humourous, but at the same time, scary.
all too soon, it was ten, and we had to leave. our report unfinished, with resolves to finish it the next day, we left the room, locked up and left. mr woo sent jeanne and myself home in a cab, and even in the cab we were talking about the supernatural, LOL.
by the time i reached home it was nearly eleven, and my mom was all, 'do you want anything to eat? are you SURE you had your dinner?' all aflutter. exhausted, i quickly had a shower and talked on the phone for a bit with zhi guo and then went to bed. i made something for him!(:
yes, that is my update for yesterday although i know i haven't updated in a long, long while. sorry to keep you waiting, guys. and of all places to do it, in the school library. haha.
the night in the school was an exciting trip out of our mundane lives, and it put really some thrill into our seemingly boring project. as mr tan did say, its the process of the project that mostly matters more than the end product. this 'process' has brought us closer, made us have fun and learn that the teachers are more than just machines with big brains.(:
